Everyone wants you dead

Die Young is very different from the other survival games you probably have tried before. It may have some of the basics of a survival simulation covered, like being marooned on an island with absolutely nothing and the need to create everything from scratch. However, building a house and knowing how to make fire are not the main objectives of the game. In Die Young, everything and everyone on the island is out to get you and your only goal is to escape. It is all about action, adventure, and escaping death.

Barely alive

From the beginning of the game, players are already put in a very bad situation. It does not start off with you lying unconscious along the shore after a shipwreck. Rather, you will find your game character threading the fine line between life and death from where you have been buried alive in an unknown island. The real struggle for survival now starts after you wake up. In your incredibly worn, parched, and starving state, you have to look for a water source and a food source. The island that you are now trapped in has plenty of areas for you to venture into but that does not mean you can just freely walk towards your discoveries as soon as you spot them. Other people who are out for your blood are also lurking in these areas and will attack you as soon as they see you. Aside from that, wild animals are also prone to going after you, especially poisonous snakes. As mentioned before, everything and everyone on the island are intent on sending you to the afterlife. There is no time to play house in Die Young. As soon as danger makes itself known, run for your life.

Discover and fight

You are, of course, given the chance to defend yourself through combat. After you have mastered or at least familiarized yourself with the game, the map, and the other bloodthirsty dwellers on the island, you will soon learn how to defend yourself, know which fruits could heal poison, and a whole lot more. You can also now start focusing on finding out the truth because apparently, you did not arrive on the island alone. You have friends! Where are they, though? What happened to them? That is for you to find out.

The suspense is real

Surrounded by threats and with no way out, surviving is definitely not going to be a walk in the park here in Die Young. The thriller and suspense elements will also leave you literally breathless and tense all the time. This is a promising game and it is easy to lose track of time while playing it.

  • Thrilling gameplay
  • Rewarding discoveries
  • Lots of areas to explore
  • Good graphics

  • Game loses track of storyline
  • Character is too prone to dying
  • Climbing controls are a bit wonky
